I see the AMD one has 4GB RAM where the INTEL one only has 3GB RAM.
There is a R1000 difference between the AMD and INTEL

I wouldn’t touch an AMD laptop simply because I have witnessed many heat related issues with them....Go for Intel, you really can't go wrong.

Memory can be upgraded, though the gfx cant.

What u using the laptop for?

If u wanna do casual gaming on it, get the amd :D

Gonna be for my dad so dnt think he will be running any games and no online play with his GPRS connection.... :p:p

He has a few database programs that is quite resource intensive.
So he is not so much worried about the graphics, just speed..

Had my AMD laptop for three years. Its an HP. Still running just fine.

Then get the intel.

I also have a HP AMD laptop, still works...just got so hot once the power connector melted ( my mistake though, was watching movies in bed...so I battle to get it to charge and the battery is now dead.

Its a 1.8ghz turion, same Super PI speed as my P4 3ghz :D

The AMD by far.

That gpu makes the AMD the preferred choice.

Not to mention the extra ram.

What are the prices, and from where?? I like the look of those A300's, and they have some decent specs too...

Thanks for all the reply's guys.

Does anyone know if you can load XP onto it?
I see that it has VISTA home premium.

Go for the Intel laptop, the Core range of chips spanked any AMD processor. You can always get extra ram later if need be, but unless you run a 64bit OS, that extra ram won't be seen.

As for Vista, is there any reason you don't want it? Does one of your dad's programs not work under Vista?
