Here's a subjective question :)

I need a new laptop. These are my main criteria: affordable (< R6000), light and very very portable, very nice feel keyboard. + Wifi and bluetooth.

Assessing the relative merits of the technical specs between different models and brands is beyond me, so any recommendations for me to use as a starting point would be great.

What will you mainly be using it for? Is it only a web browsing tool or do you have a specific use in mind?

Go along to Game with your list and buy the cheapest machine. All have wifi and some have bluetooth, or you can get a dongle for R35,00

Don't go for the cheapest, it is likely to be a celeron or some other super budget processor. Minimum i3 processor, and you might find one with an i5 on special.

Better option is to go to one or more of Game/Dion Wired/Incredible connection/Makro and do some touchy feely with the laptops there that are within or close to your price range. Note the specs and model numbers that you feel comfortable with.

Go online and check if there are any specials on the ones you noted. Check that the specs match, and then buy it. So you might see a laptop at Game, but end up buying it at Makro as its cheaper there on the day. Also Game do a price match, so if you find it cheaper elsewhere, they will give it to you at a price slightly cheaper than the price you found.

Last time I was at Game that an awful selection of laptops. Rather look online and get something with a good rep and that has some positive reviews.

Would have suggested the same thing, but OP specified a certain feel to the keyboard. Also the weight can't be judged easily online, even if you have the weight

Here's what is currently on promotion from Game:

Personally I would go for the Acer Touch Notebook for R6999

Thanks, will do so, more concerned with knowing if the specs are value for money...
