Also any decent 1151 boards out there that OC well should one wait for skylake?

I've always had good results with Asus, I like their products and they seem pretty solid.

I had a Gigabyte Mobo years ago (Socket 478) that absolutely hated me, so take my advice with a pinch of salt...

Also, as Rickster asked, what is your budget? Skylake is a tock so should be a good chipset

Actually modern motherboards are all largely the same. The difference is the support. I've had Asus, Msi, Gigabyte and Asrock and the support for each has changed a lot.

I'd get Asrock these days based on reviews plus their support. I'd avoid MSI.
