I'm pretty certain it was Frostmourne which was the Hunter weapon.
Shadowmourne is for Enhance 2hander burst, everybody knows that.

I have the following melee based characters at level 80:
Rogue
Warrior
Paladin
And by far the Warrior is the most fun I have had in a long time, considering I played rogue since classic at max level all the time. The paladin, while super fun leveling, became boring real fast at 80.

Heh blame Blizzard for making hunters able to equip everything in the game other than plate & maces, & making every single stat useful to them, if some more-so than others

Yup and we also have to maintain a GS set nowdays ! I have a stunning elemental shaman kit with imba spirit gems in... purely for GS retards. (even a sexy +8 stamina on the chest)

But yea for the OP I'd go warrior as a melee even though I enjoy playing my rogue and topping dps meters, but pvp-wise I'd rather suggest picking a warrior.

Well I can say from my experience a rogue or a enhancement shaman. PvP Wise and PVE Wise Rogue pwns...So does enhancement shaman with gear. At the moment my main is enhancement shaman and ive come first on dps meters for 25 man icc on bosses like marrowgar,festergut,rotface, blood council.
But again enhancement will be very boring leveling lol until level 40 then u just fly through because you get stormstrike. With a Rogue its fun leveling cause u can sneak through places and stuff =) and dont forget hemo spam in bg's!

I have a 80 DK and 80 Warrior (like most ppl). I am having great fun as DK melee DPS, and not doing that bad either, for me they are good in PvP as well. My warrior I use for Tanking mainly, they are great tanks.
Out of the 2 I pref DK for melee DPS.
After all it comes down to your play style and what you like.
