Location
Behind the grassy knoll
which mobile network seems to be the best during loadshedding ?

i realise much depends on battery / generator backup at tower locations, but some networks seem to put a little more effort in than others.

in my area, vodacom and cellc data crashes the very moment the lights go out - no weaker signal or slower speeds - just instant death.
having to rely on mtn is a little like playing darts in the dark

telkom mobile ??

MTN fixed LTE works in my area during 2.5 and recent 4.5hr LS slots(touchwood so far...) ... along with a 2000VA UPS I'm always connected via laptop or my mobile to the router.

If I need to go online that is.

YMMV

P.S My Rain connection ( mob sim card) is generally weak but it still works as well during power cuts so can't complain...I've got 2 backup options currently..

MTN tower in Rangeview goes down immediately because they don't give a ****.
Phone them about theft and they have long faces.
Seems as if " contractors" do the stealing.
Door swings open in the rain, gate open, broken padlocks.....

Local MTN tower in George goes down within minutes, used to run almost perfectly for hours. I think the batteries get stolen multiple times at a site and then they just stop replacing them.

Cell C and Telkom LTE stays online in Hermanus.

Also, a dual sim phone with a sim from two providers helps if you always need to be online.
