Hi

Just got Adsl, soI'm looking for a new fps that I can play online.

I want something with longevity and lots of people on sa servers. So what would you recommend, MW2, BC2, MoH or must I wait for Black Ops?

In this order:

BC2
MW2
...
...
...
MoH

Bad Company 2 is one of those games you really should play. Where I play 20 mins of MW2, I play 3 hours of Bad company 2. It's just so much more fun if you enjoy the open ended aspect of it.

+100 for BC2, its all I play

I can also say that BC2 is fast and fun. If you only play one round you feel satisified. I find my average session is 1hr an evening - I got a little one to look after and she allows me only that. I love it.

K well I own BC2 and MoH..
MoH vs BC2
Pros:
If you shoot a person, they die!! Unlike BC2 where you can be point blank and empty a clip on a guy only for him to turnaround and knife you because he has some super armour that he unlocked...
Can be very fast paced or slow depends on map.
Both have vehicles, but BC2 has alot more.
Sniping is more fun than BC2.
You unlock/move up levels faster.
Hard to learn a map in detail. (This makes it fun if you ask me)
Teamwork not as important to gain points to level up (Some people struggle with this)

Cons:
Can become a camp fest! You even see the little tents getting setup and the braais going.. But it depends on map.
Fewer classes and weapons.
Can be very hard to negotiate some maps as they are filled with lots of nooks an crannies for campers.
I think there are more BC2 servers but there are alot of MoH as well so you'll always find full games..

Both are fun! Although I stopped playing BC2 and been playing CSS for the past month, now got MoH..

All the above are very worth playing, and offer vastly different game experiences.
BC2 are team based combat, lots of vehicles
MoH is a solo game, but if you have a daft team who avoids objectives can get very frustating!
MW2 solo all the way, best gameplay out of all of them imo, sadly no dedicated servers. Players are drying up these days :(

Too many rumors going on about Black Ops, not certain if we will have dedicated servers. Will be a great game if we do get servers locally :)

Yeah this is more balanced on consoles, it just feels right since knifing is a lot harder. It balances out very well, it's the mouse that causes the entire game to become unbalanced :p
Bad Company was always a console game after all

BC2's one true failing :p

I loved BF 1942 and BF2. Though I actually played 1942 much much more, was epic. Since Bad Company went to console, I could see the direction Dice was taking. Unfortunately there just isn't as much great games on PC anymore, almost all of them are ports from console. It seems consoles are 1up today.

MW2 is seriously good, fiercely addictive online, but you would need to purchase map packs and as said before, its dying slowly (rather go AlterIWNet). That said, I hated BC2 (online) solo was ok. Rather get Black ops next month if you want to buy a new game....

MW2 - Played it alot and by that I mean alot...Now it got boring and there is a lack of interest by the genral SA public in it.

BC2 - Liked it. Sniping is fun but alot of tanking if you are not a high enough level to have unlocked all the nice goodies.

MoH - Love this one. Alot like BC2 with the gameplay but the weapon unlocks is quicker and easier to do than with BC2. Feels more like warfare with the big maps like BC2's and you can decide if you want to play a camping sniper or a Rambo charging assault class.

BC2 is great....

MOH also good, still getting into it....

I bought MW2 before BC2 and haven't touched it since... but it's also a great game and you can play Co-op with a friend... BC2 is getting Onslaught and Vietnam soon.

Black Ops looks sick.... i'm waiting to see what international latency is like, but i'll buy it more than likely.

Oky i am sorry but MoH is a sorry excuse of a top class fps. BC2 and MW2 are by far better than MoH. Such a big hype for such a ****ty game. And please dont tell me i dont know how to play it. My kdr is more than 2 and highest killstreak is 52. Spawn points designed by the CEO of Eskom cause its that ****ty. Maps are so inbalanced every single game turns into your team sits on their mountain and snipe and their team sits on theirs and snipes. People complained about the "major" lag issues in mw2 which i always found as not that big a issue as it almost never happens where as in MoH there is some of the worst lag ive seen in ages.

Weapon sounds made from cardboard boxes....and it goes on and on.

MW2 is for me together with Cod4 the best close quarter modern day shooters and BC2 is currently the best "theater of war" shooter(ie. Big map, vehicles and so on). MoH tries to hard to be Cod by making maps linear but they overcompensated and with the defective spawn points it just ends up in a camp fest and spawn raping.

Rest assure SA will get BO servers and that game will be absolutely brilliant. And ill still play BC2 to but MoH is really a waste of time and money.

It depends how you are going to play,MoH is not worth it at this moment since everything is still new and unbalanced,MW 2 is easy to just jump into and start playing.BFBC2 Takes alot skill to play as you need to make use of cover, graphics are amazing not to mention the physics (if a few guys are in the top floor of a building just plant 4 c4's in the building and blow it to bits,Sniping is fun if you know how to and when to.Overall i enjoy BFBC2 the most.

I guess I'll just wait for BO, would also be better if I start levelling with everyone else. And I really hope there will be South African dedicated servers!

BC2 without a doubt and the singleplayer alone makes the game worth buying (WHICH IS A MUST SEEING AS HOW YOU CAN GET BANNED FROM MULTIPLAYER ALBEIT WHEN YOU CAUGHT CHEATING). Also has dedicated servers unlike Modern Warfare 2 which uses a P2P sort of network (Can someone confirm this). Also BC2 shines when you playing with friends. It is hard initially as you have to unlock stuff but when you reach level 5/6 the game starts to shine. You should play on local and European servers and try Rush and team deathmatch.

Also BC2 games can have either every fast paced gameplay or many campers, just remember that there a counter to everything (eg that sniper who sitting on the hidden spot) and the gameplay comes down to being focused eg watching bullet trials of snipers to see where they are and blowing up a wall cos you saw someone run behind it or strapping all your C4 to a quadbike and ramming it into thier M-COM station (flag in capture the flag aka Rush in BC2).

BTW Modern warfare 1 was really good like having a knife fight in a phone booth with 16 other guys but I find the MW2 maps a bit lika a shooting gallery, sort off.
