ok so basically im getting one of the 2 TV's

But really cant decide which one any recommendations

LG:
http://www.lg.com/za/tvs/lg-47LM4600-3d-tv

Samsung:

http://www.samsung.com/africa_en/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA32EH6030RXXA

They more or less the same price heres the thing the LG looks much thinner and nicer but the con is it is passive 3D and i think the Active on the Samsung looks much better

Keepign in mind it will most probably be mounted on the wall will the thickness be noticeable ?

You'll never use the 3D so don't worry about that. Get the LG.

Linked the wrong samsung was meant to be the 46" one :p

I bought the Samsung and took it back the next day.
The active 3d glasses are useless if you have any outside light in the TV room.
also the sound was really bad.

I now have the LG which you are looking at and it's great.

never judge on the 3d..

Judge on the 2D picture, its what you will use 99.9998% of the time.

I'd hazard a guess and say that the people dissing 3D don't have 3D TV's but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I also didn't think it was much until I played Unchartered 3 in 3D. 3D movies are also pretty good and a cool party trick but I agree with toxicbunny, 99% of your content is in 2D so don't base it on that alone.

I have the 46" 6030 and am very happy with my purchase. I checked out out the LG also in store and I wasn't too impressed, especially the 3d it looked funny, never been a fan of LifesGood tbh. Neither really Samsung but between the two I preferred the LG.

How thin is the LG? I don't remember it being as skinny as the super thin Samsungs, perhaps slightly thinner than the 6030. The 6030 also looks fantastic from the front (where you are going to be looking at it 100% of the time), can't tell if its 2cm or 20cm deep.
