Due for an upgrade in two weeks time, but dont know which one is best:

Samsung Wave
Samsung Galaxy S
HTC Legend

Like all three phones, would like some input on what you think?

I would say the Galaxy S. I imported mine and think it's awesome.
Unfortunately, I doubt you'll be able to get it with your upgrade.

If music, video and the camera are important to you then I'd recommended the Wave.
Otherwise the HTC Desire is a good option. It runs Android so will offer a much better choice of apps and customisation.
It's like the Legend, but more powerful and with a better screen. If that's out of your budget the Legend is still a good choice.

VOIP such as Skype is not allowed on the Wave, if that's important to you.

I would say the wave.
Best screen available on the market.
The phone is just so awesome that i would not get any other phone, runs fast, smooth, can copy most movies straight from pc and play on phone(no conversion needed).
The camera is very good, video is 720p and looks very very good.
The list just goes on and on.

The Galaxy S and there really is no contest between the devices you've listed. The galaxy can do everything the Wave can do and more (plus android has a lot of expandibility). The bada os is still quite new. It's so good I'm almost thinking of switching from my Blackberry.

Don't trust scores on gsm arena,

Even the specs aren't 100% accurate. Wave is listed as having handwriting recognition while Galaxy S is not, even though the Galaxy S does support handwriting. It's accessible in the Samsung keyboard settings.
I know it's a very minor thing that most people here wont care for, just shows you that no single source is perfect.

I would definitely recommend the Galaxy S if you can get one, it's an awesome phone. I don't know why the Wave has a higher score, it has nothing over the Galaxy besides LED flash and it's stuck with Samsung's new and heavily restrictive OS, Bada. Review scores can never be trusted on their own.

I would recommend the Galaxy S as by far the best of those three, but it will also be by far the most expensive when it does come out. For the price you pay for the Legend the Desire is better value for money - slightly higher price, way better specs. A couple of people I know have the Wave and it is good value for money, but Bada still has to mature (and prove that it is going to be around for the long haul) and while the quality of the screen is fantastic it is a little on the small side.

I just read about a new Motorola Droid with a 1.3Ghz CPU that's due for a worldwide release in November. Decisions, decisions! :(

First up, Motorola's said to have a full-touch Android 2.2 handset in the works with global roaming capability on GSM and presumably HSPA -- a first in the CDMA Android world -- that apparently looks a bit like a Motorola Q (without the keyboard, of course). Interestingly, we've recently been clued into a global roaming Moto from a trusted tipster of ours with the codename "Venus" that's slated to enter internal testing on the 27th of this month, so that lines up pretty nicely with this rumor -- but Venus could also be another global Android smartphone allegedly in the pipeline from Motorola, the Droid Pro. As its name suggests, BGR says the Droid Pro will be a monster, featuring a 1.3GHz core (faster than the 1GHz Droid X and Droid 2) and a 4-inch screen with a target street date in November -- just in time for the holidays.

One of these days you'll be able to run Windows XP on your smartphone. :)

Hardware wise the Galaxy wins since it has a better screen.
Software the Galaxy wins again due to Android. But that might change in the future depending on how well Bada does.

Bigger screen is not always better.Dont want a PSP for a phone hey!!

Both screens are the same in every way apart from size.

I think SonyEriccson has got the right idea here.

You use the Xperia X10 during the day and at night time you grab your Xperia X10 mini with your dual sim when you go out. :)

I think 4" is decent for a PMP/phone, I can still operate one with one hand.
Everybody forgot to mention the 8/16GB that the Galaxy S has compared to the 1.5GB of the Wave :D.

LOL @ Djngoma
That 1.5gb is the phone memory,it uses micro sd cards.
Mine running with 16gb card.

The Galaxy S has 8/16GB internal, so that's a possible 40/48GB if you buy a 32GB card.
Compare this to the Wave which has 1.5GB internal, and with a max of 33.5GB if you buy a 32GB card.
