Hi Guys

Just need you opinion before i do my hardware raid setup. Im not sure which OS would be the best option for hardware raid purposes.Have the option of XP 32bit, 64bit, Vista 32bit, Vista 64bit.

Which one would be better and why in terms of speed, performance, reliability.

I have a Adaptec 29320 controller card and going to do a RAID0 on 2x 36gb 15K U320 Maxtor drives and install my programs on the 146gb 10K U320 drive.

The card can be used in a pci and pci-x slot, meaning 32bit and 64bit respectively.Unfortunately my m/board has only 1x pci-x slot and im using it for my ATI X1650 Pro card. Will there be a speed difference if i use it in the pci-x slot and by how much?

Thanks guys
:D

/sucks thumb....umm.. Vista 64Bit and hope you got 64bit drivers for everything including your printer.

wouldn't that be a PCIeX16 on your vga ?

what do you mean exactly drake?
my graphics card is on the pci-express port.
do you mean that its not 32 or 64bit?

explain
:confused::confused::confused:

whats the difference speedwise?

so my m/board does not support it then.

if i had it, what speed is it suppose to be and what speed is mine running at
:(

Stevie you are overthinking it.

What are you really going to do about the speeds of this and that anyway?
Just plug your stuff in and get it working already.

I would do the trial and error thing if I were him. Setup 1 up, run some benchies then try another method. Find what suits your setup.

Most addon cards are still PCI form so if he has a free PCIe slot, use it.
