I am currently using the i-mate JASJAM but have been SO frustrated with dropped calls and generally bad phone performance, it completely overshadows the rest of the device's excellent features.

I am due for an upgrade (Vodacom, Talk200 contract) around July this year. What should I be looking out for or should I simply hope and pray the Tytn II is affordable by then?

I've been a Nokia fan before, but grown very used to the idea of a full qwerty keyboard on the device.

E90 seems very good, unsure if the form factor will work for me though.

Can you please comment on the multimedia experience on an E90 (audio and video)

Go for the E90. I do understand however it is very expensive at Vodacom. At MTN it's available on a ProCall120 for just over R400/m (no pay-in).

I also read in another thread that the N96 is on its way ...

My nod goes with the E90 too. I am ordering mine in 2 weeks time when my upgrade goes through, also on MTN. I had a 9300i which didn't take kindly to a swim in the pool, and really miss the keyboard for typin' those SMS's.

i have a colleague with the TyTN II and have heard no complaints either. He does recommend the phone, but i get the vibe from him that no phone is perfect :D
