Which Platform is best? Script perhaps?

HI there

I am interested in creating a 'membership' site.
on this site people would eg pay a once off membership fee, adn then receive login details.
once they login, they will have access to various information (they will search by part number or error number for a particular part / machine). Then they will be able to view diagrams and "help" files on these products.
Not sure whether they will pay "per login" as if they only pay for their "registration monthly" they will be able to share their login details with collegues and therefore bring the membership income down.

What would be the best platform to use? Is there perhaps a script available which could accommodate this?

Any advice / input would be greatly appreciated please

Personally I would recommend that you go for a custom solution. First off, a membership site where users can join your site and either pay a monthly fee or fee per login.

There is a great system for this called Amember. It is expensive though.

Secondly you can then focus on your website, the content and securing it.

I agree with House. You should go for a custom solution using a payment gateway.

Im guessing your budget isnt to high? The problem is your solution seems quite specific. Maybe try source a company that does open source development to try get a reduced cost.

You will need to focus on security so IMO its best to get a company who has the relevant experience to develop for you.
