Which Portable Charger

I want to get myself a portable charger to charge my iphone 4s (and maybe ipad 2 as well) to use while I am walking the streets of Paris and Rome

I need something that charges from a AA battery or rechargeable battery.

A search revealed only these gadgets:

KENSINGTON POWERGUARD BATTERY CASE (about R630)
Marware Amped Portable Charger (about R479)


Any advice, suggestions or experiences you can share with me?

Look at the power monkey range of products. Not AA, I know, but you may find it's a better option.
