Which private level bank account?

Never seemed worth it. Have the cheapest Nedbank package (Savy I think) with Greenbacks activated to get something back. I pay about R66 pm bank fees, and R18 for greenbacks per month. My greenbacks earn me about R150 per month so a little more than the total of the bank fees.

There do seem to be better packages out there though but for now it pays me to be at Nedbank as my bond is there and the ability to instantly move money in and out of the bond and keep all my spare cash there with instant access has saved me thousands in interest over the years. Once the house is paid off I may shop around a bit but I doubt I will ever go for a private account as they just don't seem worth it to me.

Seems like they aren't really worth it, aside from the "real" ones (i.e. Nedbank Private Wealth / RMB / Investec - although Investec is over R400).

I may just downgrade back to Premier to save R150 a month. My bond is with FNB and the convenience of the access bond as you mention is why I am there.

Nedbank savy bundle(credit cards and cheque account), every year i get about a decent amount of green backs. Since i started green backs 2~3 years ago i have a 8k investment growing and that is just from greenbacks rewards. So it is quite decent return.
here is some more info:

Greenbacks sounds pretty good, nice to be able to turn it into an investment.

Its about the best aspect of the greenbacks. You get 20% extra per GB if you invest in a nedbank unit trust as compared to spending it in cash. Hence it makes a nice savings vehicle.

RMB Private and FNB Private Wealth are essentially the same product.

I have heard from my colleagues on RMB that their bankers are far more clued up than my FNB PW banker. For all my needs these days I call or email the Private Wealth Service Suite (as opposed to my banker directly) and they are generally very efficient.

I figured they would be, but RMB is R265/mo according to their website and PW is R425. Wonder why. I would've stuck to PW if it was R265.

Both are R425 pm on a bundled pricing option. The R265 option on RMB is a "Single Fee Product" which only covers a number of transactions.

There is zero monthly fee if a minimum balance is kept in your account.

I once I had a threesome with a stage dancer at emperors palace and her friend that I met at the bar, was a two day session. No bank offers a product that I use to show to highlight this slight achievement. So I have a Capitec gold card that I have marked with a permanent marker that says spyker soos 'n champion.
I now must use a white marker on the new black cards Capitec issues.
