Going into a C2D (not decided on exact cpu), 2x sata drives, dvd drive and a HD4850.

Normally I'd always go for the better brand but both these are on the cheap side of things, so doubt there will be too much of a differance inside. Other suggestions welcome :)

I have seen a mention or two of the Coolermaster not being terribly reliable, but I suppose that could be any brand. I have a Gigabyte 550W and similar setup to what you have (except the gfx card) and I've had no issues.
 
I saw a 550w gigabyte one on friday I think for R520, I think with the 4850 you going to need as much power as you can get.
 
Oh my word, i just logged on to post the same topic . . .I too am in the same boat as you Brawler.
But i think The 550w Gigabyte will suffice.
Are you going to overclock??

haha. Sucky time to be buy hey?

No overclocking planned. Just looking for a PC to keep me occupied for another 23 months until im out of here.

That gigabyte superb power does look good for the price, going to google for a review or 2. Where you getting yours from?

4850 Ain't that power hungry ... I have a Q9300 Quadcore, HD4870, SATA+IDE HDD & SATA DVD Rom - all running just fine on my Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus 460W PSU. I'd be weary of that iSonic if I were you Brawler.
 
Just find out that Superb 550w is actually a 450w(550w peak)

Well my sisters boyfriend is bringing me Back a E7200,HD4850,GA-P35-DS3L from America next week so that's sorted but i am just stuck trying to find a Case and PSU . . So it looks like the gigabyte for now from prophecy.I just hope it will cope with the OC'ing of the Processor. You?

Prophecy dont have gigabyte PSU's on their site..
