Which rewards programme is actually worthwhile?

eBucks, R3-4k a month.
This, and then use some eBucks to buy discounted Dischem vouchers. Then earn money back at Dischem with eBucks spent. So you get money from money which you got for free.

WIN WIN WIN

Do you need to have a Woolworths Store Card to get a Wrewards Card?

You can get the rewards with a myschool/myvillage/mywhatever card as well. Benefits you and the card beneficiary too.

None of them. They just hook you into spending more and as soon as more people join the rewards gets less and less.

Not true. You spend what you would normally spend and you get a saving back. Works well for me and I don't even spend that much (just normal shopping). I get about R300 - R400 back each month with ABSA rewards. In addition to that, I get savings from Pick n Pay, Clicks, Dischem and Woolworths (cos of their cards).

Good for you. Is that before or after Absa's exorbitant bank fees? Pnp is also more expensive then Checkers. I'd rather pay less now then having another card that you need to swipe to get points that you need to convert back to rand. Not to mention your local market will be even more cheaper on some items.

Easily ebucks. Looking back I easily received more than R20K in the past three years. The past three months alone was R2k

I do most of the shopping at Checkers and Makro as they are usually cheaper than other shops. The monthly fee I pay for the ABSA rewards program is more than covered in what I get back. My shopping habits have not changed because of any rewards programs.... those are just added benefits.

What's this pnp is more expensive than checkers or whatever crap? Do you muppets seriously do all your shopping at one store? Why the **** does no one do things properly anymore?

Petrol costs real money. Comparing prices takes time and requires repeat visits. Don't have time for that. I get 15% back from Checkers and very little from P&P. And P&P is crazy with some of their pricing, e.g. CBC Amber Weiss 4 pack is R80 at Checkers and R122 at P&P.

The adverts in my local paper, planning my route effectively, ten minutes of my time in pre planning and shopping list creation.

Also, I track prices from one monthly shop to another via the app I use to make the list in the first place.
