Which router should I get?

Netgear

The DLink keeps dropping the wireless connection every now and then for a couple of minutes. highly annoying

Does it have compatibility issues with certain wifi dongles? I read somewhere that Netgear and 3rd party wifi USB dongles did not mesh all that well.

Not at all. I've had several dongles and several wifi cards/devices connect to netgear no problem.

the only issue I've ever experienced is with the DG834G (not sure about N300) is that it locks up when you have more than 30 or so connections on torrents (so if you set your torrent to 200 connections it locks up sometimes and you have to reboot the router to get wifi back)

But setting torrents to 25 connections is fast enough to get full speed and you don't lock up your router then. I'm dissapointed that the free modem telkom gave me wasn't netgear

As soon as everything is sorted with Telkom I'm getting mine, hopefully tomorrow still.
 
Hi There,
I am a fan of Netgear so I would go for that.
My DGN2200 is rock solid and supporting 3 HTC cellphones, iPad and a few PC's all wireless as well as at least 3 wired connections.

I could be wrong but if the N300 you are getting is Telkom branded it is preloaded with Telkom firmware and not sure which wifi dongles it will support.Suggest you check with Telkom
