I am on the lookout for an affordable but good quality router, anybody have any suggestions?

You'll have to tell us what the router would be used for and what features you'd like.

Typical options:
1) ADSL modem / 3G modem / broadband router
2) # of LAN ports
3) Speed of the LAN ports: 100Mbps / 1Gbps
4) Wireless AP: Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n - the 802.11n ones are still relatively new and also cost slightly more
5) # of USB slots for storage or 3G modems

First time buyer so not really that clued up. All I need is something that will send my iburst wirelessly throughout my house. Any other details needed? I use a normal iburst usb modem

Off topic but I really feel like we should have a sticky:

Recommended Routers
Recommended NASs
Recommended XXXXXX
etc.

This question is asked every 3rd day and just 16 threads down someone else asked exactly the same question.

I'm afraid it's not that easy to get a wireless router that would support the 3G/USB modems.

So I take it that you need a wireless AP with an USB slot that supports your iBurst modem?

You can have a look at some of the Wireless TP-Link routers on www.dbg.co.za - just take note that all their prices are EXCL VAT!
There are also a few D-Link routers that can do the job.

Get a Tenda wireless router from IC. They go for about R400 and does everything you'll need.

Nevermind missed the part about the USB modem.

This wasn't aimed at you. More at the people who usually answer these questions. But FYI, if you searched you would probably have gotten what you wanted (so good job for being intelligent enough to use the search function). And more importantly if it is sticky then you get the best information because of constant contribution.

Searching or asking? Mmmm... Which would be quicker and more accurate for my specific situation? Tell me if you don't understand.

Anyway, maybe you should stop posting useless info in people's threads. Just a suggestion.
