Yes, the Sapphire is 14 Gbps Effective and the Asus 12Gbps however the fact that the Asus has 1x 8pin and 1x 6pin is that because of cooling or because it can draw more power overall?

Lol the Strix can boost an extra 20 Mhz on the core

I think if you can get the Asus at the same price as the Sapphire there is no benefit of going for the budget card.

I am not sure why the one has one connector and the other has two. My best guess is they've allowed for extra draw on the Asus for some reason. I don't know. But otherwise, Sapphire isn't really a budget brand, they are to Radeon what EVGA is to Nvidia. I would probably go for the Sapphire if I were in the market for one of those.

At the same price I am presuiding myself to go with the Strix because it has an update for 14Gbps and runs cooler because of the three fan setup. Not that it's important but the three fans config also matches my raijintek delos cpu cooler.
