Which stores do you still actively use to buy games from, but I suppose the real question here is which libraries do you stick to?

Stopped supporting EGS, MS, ITCH and now mostly stick to Steam and then GOG. Simplest reason still is that in the end with all its kak steam is still the best simplest in most things.

Well, that the lie I tell myself whether or not it is really true...

Then lets get to the reason(s) I stopped using:
  • EGS - Less support for EGS and its engine. Hell, I've even repurchases some of the titles again on steam to aboid EGS. Nowadays I wonder how many people still keep EGS around for the "free games".
  • Microsoft - Well ****, gamepass and pain of using it. So tired of its patching, download speeds and that other harassment if you reinstall the game later to replay on a different drive it was on.
  • itch - Seemed cool, hip for for this there is GOG imho.

Depends what we meant by use.
Grab the free games on epic but never play them. Won't give epic a dime because of their exclusivity bs.

Mainly used steam and gog.

I stopped putting effort to grab and never play, why even when you can completely stop any interaction with them.

I do like gog but I'll always 1st use steam unless there's an actual reason to use gog like pre patched old games.

Gamepass….

“ End of an era “

I haven't used battlenet, ubi or EA in a long time especially EA and Ubi.

I am not bothered by the third-party launcher rage. It is a pity to have additional DRM and whatnot, but meh, I buy my games. EA and Ubi logins are applicable to several games that I play, and games are linked to those external libaries. PSN, the same, but your games aren't linked to the PSN library.

Battlenet is because I still play Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 (Reforged).

EDIT:

I forgot about Rockstar which is strange since I played RDR2 the other day. I don't even see the launchers anymore.

I don't think its just launcher rage? For me its just well why bother with 10x other stores when everything is in steam already, and steam is probably the most convenient.

Two things comes to mind:
1. It does seem in some cases, even if its just anecdotal, that "steam builds" are better than "ms store builds" when it comes to certain games.

2. Also the matter of GOG pre-patching which can be nice at times, but sometimes steam gives you the original where GOG doesn't which you do need at times.

The only game that I own on Xbox Games is Minecraft. I am not buying subscriptions. I preach ownership.

From the games I own on GOG, typically are the older games, and for newer games it is for modding. I prefer Steam.

The launcher rage has more to do with buying a game on Steam, but having to launch it through Ubi/EA/Rockstar whatever, now that I remember, there is also the Paradox launcher and I think Stardock also has one. There are a whole lot of launchers out there. I get it, it is for their ecosystem.

All I want at the end of the day is for gaming ecosystems to be interoptable. It is a problem with digital in-game inventory, but still...

For anyone who says that Steam doesn't do exclusives. Half-Life, and by that, Half-Life 3 will be an Steam exclusive. Epic provided complete funding for Alan Wake 2. Cool game though.

Yes, MS Store builds suck.

There is G2A, Kinguin ( I think now renamed ), CDKeys etc.

Are those valid stores or should these not be mentioned?
