My Galaxy Tab 10.1 accidently fell on my living room floor a few weeks ago. The only thing that broke was the glass. Everything else was in good working order; even the touchscreen. My insurance company got somebody to pick up the Tab for repairs. After 2 weeks they called me and said the repair company is taking too long, they will give me money to buy a new tablet.

So, now I am thinking.......

Should I be getting the Galaxy Tab again or is there anything else out there, with same specs, which will better than the Tab in any way? The Motorola Xoom? The Asus Transformer? ....

OR is my only other option the iPad 2?

I also don't want to wait weeks. Really missing my tablet

I think the Prime has been delayed. Queried Wootware and they replied with the following :
Unfortunately stock has been delayed of the Transformer Prime to South Africa, and we are only expecting stock to arrive by March.

I should probably add that the new tablet must be 3G AND Wi-Fi capable.

then asus transformer is out dont think it has 3g? or am i wrong
your right, it doesn't have 3g. Only the Asian versions have 3g. I wish they would change that though as I am not getting a tablet again without 3g, no matter how much I love the specs.

Get an iPad 2, All the other tabs available on the makert are really sub-par in the graphics department compared to the iPad2.

Would love to get the new Prime, but it will only be available in March.

So, if I go for the Transformer 3g, where is the best place to buy from?

Food for thought...

US Wi-Fi Xooms now getting Ice Cream Sandwich OTA

US Wi-Fi Xooms now getting Ice Cream Sandwich OTA
You might have thought being the first Honeycomb tablet, and offering a completely stock Android experience, would give the Motorola Xoom some sort of priority when it comes to updates to Android 4.0. Sadly and surprisingly for tablet early-adopters that was not the case, with the Transformer Prime first to hop the update train to Ice Cream Sandwich Town. A week later the Xoom is now catching up, with an OTA update percolating down from the cloud to users, but for the moment it appears only American Wi-Fi versions of the slate are receiving. International and LTE-equipped ones are going to have to wait at least a little longer.

On another note.

The more I read about the Prime the more I am not a fan anymore...

1st it was the fact that they no longer supported proper stereo and placed both speaker on one side (Same as the iPad)
2nd ASUS messed up the design by not having a RF window which cause WiFi and GPS issues when it cam to range and get this they will only fix up the WiFi in the new units and not GPS.
3rd now I hear ASUS is not planing to make a 3G Prime like in ever... not in Asia and no where else

Its like they want it to fail?

At CES Asus announced an update to the Prime. 3G amongst other updates coming. I canceled my pre order for the initial Prime because of this.
Had an iPad2. Sold it. Way prefer Android. My opinion of course.

Where did you see the 3G option?

From all the CES reports I saw, none mentioned 3G, in Fact Engadget and Android central pointed out that there was a clear lack of 3G in the future.

I will go dig it it when at my notebook again dude.
I could stand to be corrected. I read too many tech articles and my be all confused.

Personally I am still happy with my 1st get Eee Pad. Just wish the dam ICS update would come already, last I checked its with Google for approval.
