Hi

I'm looking for a new TV, and since Black Friday is around the corner (I know... I know... Black Friday is just a bed time story told to little children in South Africa, but I'm an optimist OK...), so I thought I'd have a look around at what is currently available, and have a backup plan ready, I found the following two that peaked my interest:

LG 58UH630 58" Smart UHD LED TV - R13 999 @ Makro
https://www.makro.co.za/electronics-and-gaming/lg-58-148cm-smart-uhd-led-tv-322419EA

and

SAMSUNG UA55KU7350 55" UHD 4K Curved TV - R13 663 @ Technovision
http://www.technovision.co.za/catal...935/s/samsung-ua55ku7350-55-uhd-4k-curved-tv/

Thinking this could also be a competing option:
SAMSUNG UA55KU7000 55" Smart UHD LED TV - R13 999 @ Makro (Not gona make the DION Wired opening sale)
https://www.makro.co.za/electronics-and-gaming/samsung-55-140cm-smart-uhd-led-tv-320177EA

I did some research on all the above mentioned TV's, other that their manufacturers websites, could not find allot of real world, or detailed reviews to help my decision, and thought it best to ask the local experts here :)

As for my needs, I'm not very picky, mainly I will be using it as an extra screen on my PC for gaming on the couch on those select lazy days, and watching movies/series on the other lazy days.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure the smart has Google play app as you'll be blocked to download anything worthwhile ito apps.

I viewed a Hisense at DionWired last week and it was quite slow in comparison to LG and Samsung. That is because LG and Samsung now make use of Dual Core and Quad Core processors in their TVs now.
The quality of the image is on par with Samsung and LG though.

The Smart features are very limited on the Hisense though but then again... a Dedicated Media Player or HTPC can offer more than the other TVs.

Wow! Wasn't expecting the Hisense to be added to the mix, I know they have become quite good, but didn't think they would be suggested above the LG or the Samsung to be honest.

Esquire has the Hisense 55" UHD SMART TV (55K3300UW) for R7699 exl vat, which makes it allot cheaper than the other two, and I checked, it does have a quad core CPU, not that I will be using the smart function allot, as it will be connected to my PC

Maybe I shall go for this instead.
