Hi

Malas Tyres has the following for a Tazz 155/13"

Continental R339
Good Year R329
Ovation R279

Thats about R240 difference for 4 tyres if I get the Ovation. Note huge I know. Anybody use Ovation?

For Toyota's Toyo is the best. And try to get the widest/largest tyre in the 13" bracket. Second to Toyo's in the the 13" range would be Pirelli but my friend has Goodyear's on his Tazz and they are wonderful.

Continental's are too hard for a small car.

what tire came standard with the car. Try stick to that. Else I use Mitchellin (opel though) but i find i get excellent wear from them.

i think the original spare tyre is a Dayton IIRC. will give Minty's a call. thx

stock suspension. really trying to go budget ATM. Pirelli's on a Tazz :-)

ok, Minty's dont do Toyo 13"s.They can give me Dunlop 175/70/13 which is better than the stock spec 155/80/13. The Dunlop is a harder compound than the current Conti's I got on the Tazz.

contis or goodyear will be fine
i wouldnt get dunlops for any of my cars - heard some stories bout weak sidewalls

maybe try the goodyears this time

ps: R240 could the be difference in stopping/cornering/etc or an accident

the wider dunlops are R380 each, so a bit more expensive than the contis. Mintys said that these are quite popular also. will speak to Malas again.

every pair of Conti's ive had have started cracking and then had to be replaced, way before they are out of tread. So i avoid them like the plague. Not to mention my old man has had 2 blowouts on conti's !

i would say, pirelli is overkill :P dunlop or goodyear or toyo is the choice

the contis I have on are almost on the marker and the ride quality has been horrible the last few thousand kilometres.I actually took the car to TSW for an inspection.

Dunlop's would be fine. They do give a smooth ride with low noise. I know Tiger Wheel used to sell 13" Pirelli's.

Strange that Minty's don't do 13" Toyo's anymore. We had 13" Toyo Proxes fitted by them 2 years ago in Durbs. They were also offering us a Toyo Eco tyre that's very affordable.

EDIT: Aha! their website lists 13" passenger Toyo tyres
