Which version?

Huh, that should work fine. Did you install the nVidia drivers from restricted repo or whatever they call it.

They were installed with the distro.

Busy doing updates first then will look at this again.

Don't install drivers from synaptic, go to Nvidia's site and download their drivers for your card ftw++

Last time I did that VLC went magenta but am busy doing updates, then will download the Nvidia driver from nvidia.com (already have the page open).

Mint is terrible

Why do you say that? It's 90% Ubuntu (or don't yo like Ubuntu either?).
The only major difference (when Ubuntu was Gnome anyway), was they used a custom menu system (slab menu) as opposed to the default Gnome menu which Ubuntu used.
Just curious, don't mean to derail the thread.

I have actually downloaded Mint again. I think the version is 11. Just need to get a blank DVD and then gonna install it :-)

Just get yourself a large enough USB flash drive, no wasting of writeable media any more. Going green and all that...
:p
