Duh.Jealousy makes one nasty......
I recall my first car had central locking. One could sit centrally in the car and reach all doors to unlock them. Now, I can open windows from another town. I really NEED that! (Not)!

What are these two cars you own?Where is the line when 'tech' just become unnecessary gimmicks?
My cars both can park themself. I think it crossed the line already. Why can I control my BM from my cell phone? Gimmick. So, you say the Chinese cars have even more of this 'tech'!?
Maybe ABS and stability control was enough 'tech'?
Lots of dealerships farm out gearbox work whether it’s in or out of warranty work, they are just too complicated.
But for mechatronics and clutch replacements from what I understand those should largely be in house because it’s typically not an overly complicated job, it’s nothing like a full strip down that some gearbox repairs may necessitate.
Good news for you is it's still available.hmmm
mitsubishi for me
Honestly, most infotainment is. Sometimes I would just like radio with BluetoothThat Mitsubishi is a great underdog, it’s the 1.5T & not the 2L N/A as well.
Just two small niggles is that supremely dark cabin & that infotainment system is clearly hot garbage.
Eina!Did you consider the MG ZS (nee Pro)?
You're open to Chinese already, I've seen a fair number on the road already & all these MG's (ICE & EV) are shifting serious volume in the UK.
N/A engine & 4 speed auto are the major cons though.

I am not a die-hard BMW fan? I've owned one, versus 3 Opels in a row. And a Ford before that.I must say your comments about looking at the Haval knowing you are a die hard BMW man is one of the real about turns showing just how far they’ve come.
No German car does even 200,000km without major failure so arguing longevity there is pure crazy.
If someone used the Japanese as a reference for longevity I can still sort of go for it but these days it’s very model dependent since very little is still genuinely Japanese and they aren’t entirely full proof any more either.
No modern car really is, there simply is too much going on.
And that’s okay.
Sure. I'll be glad to come assist you in my Haval when your car has a breakdown@Speedster

Possibly. Except that is a 1.0 and about R50k more expensive.VW T-Cross should have been an option.
Absolutely. The T-Cross is extremely overpriced relative to its peers that’s before the bare bones nature of it.
Possibly. Except that is a 1.0 and about R50k more expensive.
Also I feel like it’s much smaller without looking at a Spec sheet.
Polo sized instead of Golf sized like the others.
