Is this something that goes into the cigarette lighter?Temu dropped off wireless Android auto a bit earlier. It works surprising well. For the price it makes no sense why wired Android auto/carplay exists at all.
No. It goes into the wired android auto USB portIs this something that goes into the cigarette lighter?
My wives one worked brilliantly, now for some reason it has hiccups. My dad's never worked properly.Temu dropped off wireless Android auto a bit earlier. It works surprising well. For the price it makes no sense why wired Android auto/carplay exists at all.

Picked it/her/Bob up this morning. Trip home was 13km, averaged 9.2l/100km. A bit higher than I would've liked but it was all city (no highway) and caught what felt like every red light. Also, I've read that the fuel consumption will decrease slightly after some mileage so I guess this is close to a worst case number.
Mileage, as you can see, is super low. The service report from Haval shows it was first sold at the end of July 2025, so it's as close to new as one can get without actually being new. It's just a whole bunch cheaper.
Insurance is with Naked. It was super quick adding the vehicle to my policy before leaving the dealership.
I still need to play around with the settings to get everything exactly like I want it, and waiting for Temu to deliver a wireless Android auto converter.

Edit: It still has the factory plastics on the infotainment screen, cabin lights and under the floor mats.

Why do most vehicles only have the wired option, it makes no sense?Temu dropped off wireless Android auto a bit earlier. It works surprising well. For the price it makes no sense why wired Android auto/carplay exists at all.
When the phone is connected to wireless CarPlay can the screen be off?It makes a big difference. Also make sure you're charging your phone when using maps.
But if you doing short stop start trips in an urban area then Wireless is the answer, you don't want to be plugging your phone in and out every time you hop in and out of the car. It’s still very compromised.
I can’t comment on Android but CarPlay is definitely worse on wireless both in slowness and resolution but worst of all is the battery slowly discharging itself on just the wireless pad.
Mostly just an issue on longer trips, hence why I plug it in then.
Possibly helped by a much more potent wireless charger.

Wireless charging for my side just keeps the battery at what it was if using AA.It’s always off when connected to CarPlay.
But the wireless charger isn’t strong/fast enough to override the battery drain.
So I’m guessing the cars that have it natively have much fancier wireless chargers.
Yup that was my point, only use the cable long distance because then it’s not annoying.
The devices need to support up to that as wellThe latest higher end Chinese models think Model Year '24/'25/'26 have higher output (up to 50W in some cases) plus ventilation to allow cooling to the pad.
This combo means "overriding" any battery drain.

Apple 7.5W problems...It’s always off when connected to CarPlay.

Not mentioned here is the Cherry Tiggo Pro cross HEV which uses something like 5 litres per 100 kms.

Hmm may need to check that, I know on my wife's car and wireless charging it just kept it at 65% while we drove to Durbs. Didn't charge it though, eventually had to plug in to charge itWas my perception too when doing short trips but when I go out further it slowly trickles itself backwards.
Stupidly can’t figure out a Shortcut to make it go into Low Power mode when connected to CarPlay, but may be intentional from Apple because the action is there for anything else.
15w isn't great either but keeps it floating basically.Apple 7.5W problems...![]()
