There was a huge jump in the price of Macallan's specifically at the beginning of 2023. Since then they have been far to expensive from a price to quality perspective. e.g. the Macallan 12 Double Cask was reasonably good at the R750 a bottle it cost at the end of 2022 but it's bang average (at best) at the R1,250 a bottle it cost in 2023.

Yep, I don't know if this 90th Anniversary is a gimmick, but it was only R100 more than the normal one, so why not
