Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

O, and for under R400, I bought the TSW Virgin Oak, IIRC, which is also 48,6% ABV
That is an awkward one as it is no longer generally available.

PS, I still have two. Heard PnP Worcester still had 6 bottles end Dec. Stopped there while on holiday, but at the wrong PnP. There are two in Worcester :X3:

Sorry to ask...and maybe I'm confused: what does all these mid to high 40% ABV's have to do with "high" ABV in general?

Or did I misunderstand the homework assignment? For me nothing below 52% ABV is "high" TBH?

Flame suit on...

PS: Bain's 10 Shiraz cask finish, 63.5% ABV....wow, what a dram!

I wouldn't be rushing to buy it, still have my pretty full bottle of it.

Possibly the highest available ABV in the price range? Not necessarily "High ABV"

On the Bain's 10 year  prefer it to the 15 or even the 18's (which are overpriced I think)

Basically looking at the quickest way to alcohol poisoning at the lowest price

I brought in a bottle of the Black Pitts just over a year ago....absolutely hated it. Would love to hear your feedback.
I remember you hating it.

It is OK but I'm not going to rush out to buy a bottle. The Connemara is more Peaty so my choice of the two.
