Decided on some peat last night.

I opened that Octomore maybe 8 months ago and was not impressed unfortunately. Tried it again tonight and it is better...but still has this long , lingering musty aftertaste that I just do not like.

The Balcones is just superb and I cannot get enough of it.

I struggle with the Octomore 10 YOs as well as the .2s - so you not alone.

I was in Qatar last weekend and looked for this (Ardbeg Smoke Trails), but no luck. They had an absolute shocking selection of whisky tbf.
My sister has just come back from UK through Heathrow and couldn't find any either

Ended up getting 1 of these, as didn't seem like the best selection from the photos she sent. Very enjoyable, slightly more peated Glen Scotia (although still very light on the peat)

Same, came from Heathrow T5 yesterday and couldn’t find any. Grabbed a random Connemara Peated and left in a huff.

I’ve got a friend flying out of Edinburgh who is visiting us at end of the month and who always asks what I want. Let’s see if she can bring me a bottle from Scotland.

Got 2 bottles of Macallan 12 year old that I will be trying soon. First Macallan in my bar.

So I couldn't wait and opened this up last night. What a dram.

Born from the collaboration between the Irish distillery and the Parisian restaurant "Frenchie", this micro cuvée is called "Rue du Nil"

Lots of crisp apple and pear notes on the nose and palate. Then the spices hit the mid palate...sage and some coriander, but softened with on the finish with more flowery and cut straw notes.

Extremely long, delicate finish that just lingers on. Absolute cracker of a dram!
