Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

Wow I don't know what to say, I've never found someone who doesn't like this? Even people who dislike peat tend to go 'oh this is actually nice'.

I mean I've tasted over 400 whiskies and Glen Moray Peated is in my top 150 of those.

@ands45 if you genuinely don't like it, I'll buy it off you.
I mean I enjoy the 12 year and the Chardonnay cask wasn't too bad, so will have to give it a try and see

I can even pick up for you and drop - given the two of you live around 10/5 minutes drive from each other :)

The Smokey MacSmokeface is sublime. Try some of the Super Smoky too if you can and the Pencil Shavings in a Barber Shop.
I could only find this in the SMWS-SA database...

But the Pencil Shavings sounds real familiar. Was it an international release?

3rd Day of my SMWS Advent Calendar:

A Glen Garioch. Never even heard of this distillery...

Delicious though....loads and loads of tropical fruit, but the sharpness tempered with spoonfuls of clotted cream over the top. Glen Garioch.

An 18yo Highlander. 58.7% ABV

Sorry wrong name - you have the right one above.

Yep you are right, the first Black Bottle (in a green bottle) was more Islay biased than the current bottling. Every-time I find an original bottling I snap it up, really nice easy drinking daily dram.

Picked myself up a bottle, bit more more expensive than the new bottling, but worth the price. Really a great peated blend, must say, it doesn't lack peat like most blend

finally got around to klapping the Single & Single tasting set from:

must concur with @MightyQuin @DramBuddy @BartSimpson ... that Ledaig was memorable

Tried to buy one but it was for delivery only. Went back to add more stuff to make up the R450 but they gone.

Now it is our friends again .....

Perfect idea, also currently loadshedding, you just planted a great idea in my head.

Have you had the standard Scarabus yet, interested in making that my next Islay purchase

Normal Scarabus is a decent Islay dram.
