Will be going pass calitzdorp on friday, what do mybb think of 6 yr old tawny cask boplaas?I know you guys dont like the brandy finish. If its not worth the stop then ill just get some of their wine in ladismith

Ardbeg has personally ruined lagavulin 16 for me.I've not tried the 10 but I've tried quite a few Port Charlottes, I just can't connect with them. Bruichladdich, yes I like Bruichladdich enough but Port Charlotte just misses the mark. Longrow Peated is better (and similar), even if the price is absurd now (~R1000).
Lagavulin 16 is still up there with the best of Islay for me but I enjoy a bit of diversity.
Laga 16 was the 2nd ever Whisky I drank after cutting me teeth on Laphroaig 10 and I loved it. But over the last few years it feels like the quality and consistency has waned a lot of the Laga 16.Ardbeg has personally ruined lagavulin 16 for me.
It was the first whisky I drank that made me realize what the hype was about and after 2 years of trying many others I went back to it as my "first love" and it just didn't live up to what I remember. Doesn't matter though nothing that a good ardbeg Corry won't solve!
I have heard from local tasting's feedbacks that they're really good, so cannot wait to try them.^ Offerman Editions![]()
Definitely need to get my hands on one of these, can't waitAccompanied by an all time favorite and definitely the first bottle in SA:

If you like that move on to the Lochranza Castle release. My favorite Arran. They've got some spectacular sherry casks going on there.
