Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

Thanks to the awesome Three Ships community and some trading I finally managed to acquire one of my unicorns to complete my Checkers releases. The Private Barrel Co 6 year old. Thanks guys. You know who you are :)

Opinions on Jura 10 year? Seems like a decent price but from reviews doesn't sound great

I quite liked it, at R390 it sits in the correct price range for what's in the bottle and competes with some stuff in the next R100 bracket(R400-R500). Nice easy drinking but not much complexity but certainly not offensive.

Not something I would have initially thought about replacing but this has grown on me, too young to drink neat but great on the rocks with the kameeldoring coming through takes me straight to a wood braai. Currently on special for R299 which is reasonable wouldn't pay more tbh.

Heading over to wild about whisky this weekend going to try some Waterford any recommendations on which ones?

By now you all know I like all good whiskys from Irish to MEGA PEAT.

Wanna see if I can get a tasting of Ardbeg Scortch managed to get some Blaaack last time

Thanks! Might be a silly question as I dont know much about the range are the all different enough that trying 4-6 of them would be worthwhile?
I don't know what WaW has to offer for tasting re. Waterford unfortunately. But the Gaia and the 2 South Africa only releases, should do the trick.

Still only had the one dram from my bottle, wasn't a fan of it, so haven't given it another try. Although might work well in a cocktail, so maybe must try that

See if they have some Octomore to sample. They always used to have at least one open.
Thanks - I had the last time I was there. I found the octomore very 1 dimensional always preferred the ardbegs. Really enjoyed the blaaaack so I will see if they have any other special releases.
