Whitehouse.gov switches to Drupal

The reason I'm putting this is the Linux thread is because the Drupal implementation runs on a Red Hat Linux system with Apache, MySQL and the rest of the LAMP stack.

I think this is great news for open-source. So, it's not just NASA, NYSE, LSE, Google, Yahoo!, Amazon, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, eBay..... it is now the Whitehouse too!

Dries Buytaert (the guy who created Drupal), owns a company called Acquia. His company is one of the subcontractors. So yes, I think they are laughing all the way to the bank. It is also good for the further development of Drupal. Acquia is to Drupal what (e.g.) Ubuntu and Red Hat are to Linux.

I hope the US Government releases its enhancements to the community. They should, as far as I'm concerned.
