Cape Town - White ratepayer associations have created "a parallel government" and are undermining the ability of municipalities to deliver services, Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Sicelo Shiceka said on Wednesday.

Shiceka told a media briefing in Cape Town that white ratepayers were placing their money for municipal services in private trust accounts.

"We have discovered that over 280 ratepayers in South Africa, which unfortunately are white organisations, have created a parallel government," he said.

"They take the money instead of paying service to municipalities and put it in a trust account. That undermines ability of municipalities to deliver services."

Actually they are paying for the services, but the lawyers are keeping it in a trust until the services they pay for are actually provided.
 
How can this "minister" say something like that? Does he want to direct the violent service delivery protests at the white people? Certainly seems like it, and that is a very dangerous thing to do minster **** wad.

I pay my rates and taxes, and for him to generalise something like that is totally racist. His government is failing to deliver basic essentials to the poor of the country while they buy mansions in Sandton and own cars worth millions and seem to see no problems with doing so. Ja, Whites are the problem here.

The reason they started putting it in a trust was because the services were not being performed in the first place. I'm tempted to do this. Our refuse has not been collected for the last two weeks in Alberton. And on Monday we lost all water pressure. Not to mention all the problems I am having with speedsters on our street crashing into my walls and trees.

They're missing your house. It was collected last week (albeit a day late) and again early this morning (again, a day late).

I am puzzled about how white folk could "undermine the ability of municipalities" when those same municipalities have zero ability :mad:

EDIT: Oh - hang on ... I get it now ...the accuser is also minister of "traditional Affairs" ... did municipalities actually exist back in the days before the 'settlers' arrived?

I know... they always miss our house... because we are on the end of the block. Actually... I think they can see the dustbin fine... because we put it right on the edge... but they just ignore it. Too far for them to walk.
 
So a trust with money in it is a government? Interesting. Any opportunities for tenderpreneurs yet?

Maybe enough of them are doing it so it's starting to affect income... I have to say though that this is a good move because some municipalities are completely dysfunctional. I remember the NW one on Carte Blanche where rate payers had to pay their PO rental and deliver the mail to the municipal manager's office.

I see as usual myBB are condemning one racists by comparing their own racism with him in a kind of penis size racists contest.

Of course they are. They have to blame somebody and it was always going to be whitey.

Ironic since a friend of mine has been recalled to a town who's water infrastructure is basically in a state of total collapse to fix the mess they made after he left. Yet another example of Whitey undermining service delivery lol

How do they not get that this situation is a direct result of the municipality undermining service delivery and not vice versa?

a) withhold rates
b) burn down a library

At the end of the day which is the lesser of two evils? :whistle:
