Telkom’s Steven Hayward has informed analysts, the chaps who have great sway with shareholders, that Telkom do not cap their users.
My first question is: does this chap use his ADSL line because if he is actually doing any sort of big downloading he will discover that something happens when you use too much. Now in the real world we have a name for it … it’s called reaching your cap.
I periodically have this happen. I use too much and then hey presto! no more fun online for me.
Now if my ISP, aka TelkomInternet, is not cutting me off I want to know who bloody well is because I want to have a word with them!
According to Hayward, Telkom do not cut their subscribers off when they reach their limit and haven’t done so, to the best of his knowledge, in their rather illustrious history.
Now either the chap is completely ignorant regarding how the system works or he is lying. Either option is not very pleasant and should not be pondered on for too long.
The thing to do with this kind of information is to find some innocent and unsuspecting punching bag, even a firm pillow will do, and beat the holly bejeebers out of it. As for a useful course of action, there is none because that would involve interacting with this body of dishonest, lying, money-hungry mud grubbers.
Here the best thing to do is to hope that one day Karma will sneak up on them and bite them in the derriere. Walking away is not really noble or about being the bigger person, it’s more a case of running from something that is radioactive. Don’t touch it because you’ll get sick yourself.
So next month when I hit my cap again, I’m going to forego the pleasure of asking helpdesk to find Mr. Hayward and beat him to a palp (metaphorically of course, I would never recommend real violence) … I’ll rather content myself with the knowledge that as I sit behind my dead computer that Karma is indeed doing the rounds and that just maybe someday justice will prevail.
