Theres a place in Bellville that a friend of mine used. He said it was called Playstation Repair Shop. Its near to Durban Road. I can ask him for more details if they are still around.

Nice to know that people on this forum are willing to help someone pirate games. :(

The mod chips are used to play backup copies of games that you made so that when your son damages one,you do not have to purchase it all over again.

From when is backing your data up illegal?

And do you know of any game company who is willing to exchange a damaged game for a cost of about R50?

Well, enabling a person to play "backup copies" also enables them to play cheap-cheap pirated games. I'm leaning towards the fact that the OP doesn't have many backups of original games he wants to play...
