sooo.. who has had scabies before ? and how did you get it and what did you use to get rid of it ?? my dad thinks i've got it and i'm itchy everywhere

You get a stinky, sticky cream from the pharmacy that you need to spread all over your body (even on the webs of your fingers and toes). On that last point my understanding is itching and redness between the fingers is usually one of the signs.

I've never had it, but I know the rules:

apply some sulphur (chemist) to your rash

get your bedding washed and in the sun not tumbledry
let sunlight into your room
vacuum & clean
including keyboards, mouse, cellphone, keys
- the things you handle a lot

(put 1/4 cup of Jik in the dishwashing basin with water and wipe
off surfaces and stuff with a damp cloth)

keep your hands clean

Never had it before but this might be of use:

How is it treated?
Every member of the household and all contacts must be treated. It takes one month to start itching after infection has occurred.

Bathing and scrubbing with Tetmosol soap is followed by the application of benzoyl benzoate to the skin from the neck down for three consecutive nights.

The treatment of the itch with a mild topical steroid ointment or cream may be necessary for a few days.

Years ago, there was a scabies epidemic at our schools, we gave the kids Calamine Lotion to use, very effective and cheap. Dab the whole body with calamine lotion using cotton wool. Stay away from sunlight. After a couple of days it will stop spreading. Wash all your bedding...

I suffer from allergies and this year is a mega year. My son is now on the same chronic medication as me after he was scratching himself all over non-stop for 6 months (he is only 2).

Best advice, see a Dr. The R250 consolation fee is way cheaper than spending hundreds on medication that will not work.

well i'll be bothering the doc tomorrow again... my mom bought that tetmosol soap, i dont know if it works, oh well... man this all just sucks

ew scabies is nasty stuff. I had when I was a rank unwashed student. You gotta improve your personal hygiene bud.

I got it at a mates house ages ago when I was in high school. Used a pink lotion and cleaned the bedding every other day. Took aboout 2 weeks to dissappear.

Nasty stuff.
