I'm currently doing frontend stuff at work but I like personally like ruby. Of course you need to know when to use it.

The guys I work with use python and were talking about "how **** ruby is". I wanted to take part but realized that most people with such comments don't even know how to code in ruby. This has nothing to do with performance.

I have no problem with someone saying ruby is "****" because I have my own opinion. The only thing I have a issue with is when people who don't know something have a comment to say.

A while back I read a post where someone said that Vuejs 2 is better than React. This person had started using Vuejs 2 and had used React for around 18 months and knew the tools required to use React "nicely". This made me want to see what Vuejs had since I was using React myself in a project. I don't think I would have cared enough if the person had said Vuejs is better than React without having used React. Of course, it remains a opinion but I consider it valueable if its backed by knowledge.

If it's anything I have the same problem with the Unreal Engine Vs. Unity debate. Especially those guys who used Unity since forever, then just opened unreal and made an immediate judgement.

Then the debates start:
Unreal doesnt have this plugin. - Ofcourse cause its a standard feature outta the box.
bla bla bla..

When you really get down to it, they used to something, not willing to try something else.

Spot on. Some guy on youtube talking about functional programming languages says that he prefers juniors over seniors because they are willing to learn while most seniors are just hard headed.

As much as I like coding in Python, this is one aspect of that community I really dislike. At least do some research before slandering other people's languages.

You will always have group A saying how *** group B is.

Do some research and make up your own mind.
Python is great for some things, Ruby is great for others. Wordpress is awesome for x, node.js is fantastic for y.

There isn't really a 1 size fits all language.

I do agree that people making accusations without knowing what they are talking about are full of ****.

Sometimes, however, I do get a "gut" feeling about something and go with that alone. Usually it works out great.
