I got my modem on Feb 24th 2004 and was up and running in minutes. I will cease to be a customer on Nov 30th (Sentech's decision not mine) I make that 1010 days.

Any advances?

ADSL ordered and confirmed, and quoted at 3 to 6 weeks. We will see.

ADSL installed in 13 days including 2 weekends. Not bad.

I started in April 2006, spent a small fortune buying the modem and installing a fish-bone antenna. 6 months later, I have a paperweight and some scrap metal to show for it. No more proprietary technology for me. Its ADSL all the way.

I was on pre-testing (anyone remember the "smithw" account?) so I was around in 2003. Before they went public you easily got 100KB/s... I guess they're heading back to that by getting rid of subscribers.

Started beta testing on the 12th January 2004 in Durbs.
LOL at the "smithw" account and it was 512k nogal :D

April 2004

Got the smithw account for a week while they set up my proper account, and wow did that account fly. Was such a letdown when I got my 256k login

Department 1 at Telkom have installed my new line and now waiting for Department 2 to convert it to ADSL, then its bye bye sentech

Started at the end of Jan 2004, and although my contract was terminated as at end Oct, I'm still connected and dowloading like mad............

Got my modem on 20 April 2004 but was "terminated" end of October 2006 - I was a very happy customer and rarely had a problem UNTIL they (SENTECH) tried to FORCE their "Flexi" cr*p onto me.

However I got excellent from Telkom and Axxess on ADSL. Two of my customers (both now ex-Sentech) and 3 friends have done the same as I have and are also happy with their ADSL!
