Recently there has been a lot of activity down Bellairs Drive in North Riding. Every time I see someone digging a nice big hole its either City Power, Joburg Water or "Contracted to Telkom".

So I arrive at work in Midrand this morning, on 16th Road. I see massive trenches being dug, so I look out for the "Contracted to Telkom" truck that seems to always be around. Lo and behold, it is indeed it is Neotel! *happy days*

So that means at least my company can get off the Telkom grid quite soon, I hope.

Neotel are a strange bunch, they dug up the left of us.. then the right of us, then the pavement on the other side of the left of us, then the other side of the right of us...

Maybe it was Telkom vs Neotel seeing who could lay cable quickest? :D

Bright orange cables.. they have been appearing on sidewalks for the past 4-4 months down here in KZN...
 they say "Contracted by Telkom" thougj

Hmmm... don't think the pipes have to be orange. Though Telkom does use those blue/green ones.

They have been digging up the whole of Pinetown now for months. One of these roads are just 50m away from my home. Maybe, just maybe. Mmmmmmmmmmm

There's been alot of activity around the Milnerton/Table View area, along Marine Drive.

:D Maybe Maybe ;) ;)

Neotel did lay down bellairs already... I'm chuffed cos I stay right there...

Neotel in action in Sandton, Bright Orange tubing going into the ground , all down Katherine from corner of Pybus and Rivonia. Wrapped with white and orange cellophane warning on the tape reads : Warning Neotel Fibre ... could not make out the rest.

So our friends laying down fibre here in Sandton.

No.... Telkom have laid their cables in our area and then lent their contractor's vehicles to Neotel apparently who just finished carving up all the verges down our street.

From what i heard,, those cables are not telkoms. Neotel are laying there own cables so they have no ties with telkom, therfore telkom will be trying to jump hurdles in the paraplegic olympics, and its impossable for them to do anything about it,,,from what i was told though...could be broken telephone if u know what i mean.

oh and just to add,,, those cables are probaly getting taken out just as fast as they go in,,,,by cable thieves...lol...u never know in south africa

Neotel is laying fibre, so cable thieves largely go after copper cables, which they then resell as scrap metal.
