If you can find some other examples it would be impressive, but the 8800GT is PCInt's worst priced item afaik.

Their other graphics prices would be hard to beat, and the RAM/CPU/mobo, and almost everything else really, are insane.

I am also not that happy dealing with them though, they don't seem very customer friendly and theres no tracking for your shipping etc.

Sigh... I really feel for all those guys selling IT stuff online, you gotta go thru so much, even chop your pricing, just to get a sale. It's scary that people out there make online shopping a 'price war.' Why can't people buy from a supplier and pay a bit more for good service? Nothing wrong with that, absolutely nothing ;)

I've use prophecy and sybaritic, great pricing + great service. I;m not gonna change to another service provider just to save a few bucks, and down the road get poor service ;)

Let's see probably because the whole idea behind the value chain approach is to actually add value, and they add none. I buy hardware install and fix it myself, the only time they actually come into the equation is when I want to return defective hardware which they just send back anyway, so they are like a unnecessary step in the process.

Also many of these so called "dealers" give warranty return products to customers who expect new products, and when you claim such they get angry. I got a "new" motherboard from a certain reseller that had what looked like dried spilled water on it and the packaging was opened, I told them it wasn't new they got angry, I took it, it didn't work and then the next time I didn't leave until I got a sealed motherboard, guess what happened? It worked and the BIOS was even the latest release right out of the box, whereas the other still had the original BIOS.

SA hardware resellers are so suspect, the only reseller I really trust is Cyberdyne systems, I get a sealed package from them when I ask for it, no complaints.

The US model of direct resellers are far better!
 
I have had a return or 2 ... I gladly accept the product back ... but it isn't up to me for the final warranty decision, its up to the supplier ... if they find nothing wrong (which is rare when I fight with them), they don't return it. Not long ago I had to return a Asus P35 (Was mine actually) to Axiz ... there was a funny high pitch noise coming out from near the cpu, and the sound card gave out a buzzing sound when you turned it up to full ... so I took it back ... they said it will take 2 days to test ... I said not a chance, they must test it now ... eventually ... they swopped it on the spot without testing ... I didn't have the box or any of the drivers ... I informed the guy I actually want to upgrade to a better board ... so they gave me a full credit on a two week old bored. Thats the kind of service I try to give to every one.

And you will never get anything not sealed from me ... unless the supplier doesn't seal it ... which is once again ... rare, but it happens ... but in any case, I don't keep stock on hand, so the chances of me having a second hand anything is zero to none. If for some reason I do get something returned and can't return it to the supplier, but have to honour a warranty ... I will sell it on bid or buy to turn it to cash very quickly.

@ Ekhaatvensers .... "theres no tracking for your shipping etc." ... there's something I forgot to include into my website :o ... before I just used to e-mail tracking details once I posted, and before that I would update my site with pending/processing/delivered ... I need to make some better options for that system though like "Pending" - when I'm waiting to hear from a customer ... "Proof of Payment Received" ... "Processed" - When I have placed the actual order ... "collected" when the stock arrives on my premises ... "delivered + Tracking Number".

@Snakepit - Look again ;) ... I've redone my pricing structure and heavily decreased pricing ... plus I dropped Rectron as a Logitech supplier.

Are you referring to the Loading screen again :P ... I'm probably gonna remove it ... but first I wanna get rid of bugs as a priority ... then I will look at other stuff ... and yes, I know you regard this as a bug ;)
 
Lol ... u know I'm just kidding ;) ... Like I said ... I will probably be removing it ... but first I want my developer to tackle the more important bugs ... and I have no clue how to remove it :P
 
I thought it'd be nice :P ... I like it cause I want the page to be fully there when it loads ... but if something is not practical, what can I do :P

PCZone in Durban (www.zones.co.za) had it for R6999 in February but now they selling the Z model with a crappy intel graphics card.

If you can get it at this price consider it sold. Live in CT.

I got a nice priced quote from eitai that came in just cheaper than the best I could do from Prophecy/PCInt. I'm just looking at a couple of other options (including possibly a used rig) before I place any order.

That price was crazy ... my cost on that laptop is 7864.86 ... I wish I knew how these guys got it so cheap ... I wonder how much bulk they bought :P

PC-Int is also doing this: Extensa 5720G-301G16 ... their price is R200 ex vat below my cost???? How do they do it?

If you look at there RAM prices they are also nastly cheap.. R199 inc vat for 1Gig Laptop memory.. this is when I wish I lived back in Durban.

BTW they only have 2 small stores.. the main branch cant be more than 10x10m
 
Maybe ask them for a franchise opertunity.. lol get really great prices that way and put everybody else to shame in SA. They really are the cheapest i have seen anywhere. They are strictly cash and dont do delivery which sucks.
 
Well when I am able to get stock of the Chaintech 9600GT, I will be doing that cheaper than them provided exchange rate remains or falls :P ... unfortunately they bought most of the stock and now its sold out :(
 
Have any of you played with the temporary flash thing-a-ma-jig in the top of my site ... I keep going to my site to click on it ... its a fractal thing ... I think its so cool ... pointless, but cool :p
 
Any laptops you can get for under R8000 with dedicated graphics? I got your email. Aswell what are the delivery costs like? JHB to CT?

If I open up about 4 pages on your site, let's say CPUs, RAM, GPUs and PSUs, I can see that the pages load almost instantly. But, it takes about 30 seconds for all the pages just to get rid of that annoying "thing". I can see that the pages have loaded the relevant information in the background.

I don't understand.
