I want to get my website up and going again. I'm finding with no content it gets no google hits. So I'm thinking of adding a blog to it.

With the popularity of twitter and facebook as well google reader dying do any of you still blog?

Nice blog there.

12 apps already published and you are only 2nd year student. Well done!

Sir, you put me to shame. I better get my ass in gear and start getting going developming things and stop procrastinating.

You actually have the most powerful tool at your disposal :).

See to the left for some of us who posted a blog , it shows up. You could write a short blog post and then post a short summary as a signature that will link to it either directly or from the blog on mybb to your site.

The only difficult thing is posting where alot of folks go to on the forum eg. The TV Series thread is updated daily and if your content is relevant, it will get a hit or lots more.

/just an idea.

Good Luck!

Edit: <3 DA-LION-619 , local devs are awesome ;)

The SO recently started a blog on fashion as that's direction she wants to head in. I had a blog, but it was;t something I put a lot of effort into. Ultimately I killed it and will look at getting it going again, soon.

I used to blog. Started out as a fun thing until I had more readers than anticipated. So I got the blogger app and would write down my thoughts on a regular basis...Till I ran out of things to write, deleted the app and have not logged on in a couple of years.
Yes I believe there are still people out there who read blogs. Facebook is rather restricted IMHO- unless your friends/family are the folks you want to share your material with.

I occasionally do. The problem is that the stuff I blog about takes so damn long :(

Interesting the guys who posted in this thread who blog are win phone developers.

I guess there are not many South African Android, iPhone or other software dev who blog.

I use to blog I wrote about tech, website app reviews but the tech becomes so outdated which made the blog outdated that it made wonder if it is worthwhile as it makes me look outdated if I don't update the blog. One competes against tech news sites, clickbait links, facebook, twitter and other site
So i'm thinking of making it more a business type blog to resell myself. Almost like a CV. I know github or stackoverflow is what is used but I find this approach is a more like a pissing contest where as a website can link to thinks like apps you wrote, experiences with software , my approach to software projects etc.

I blogged a lot between 2011 and early 2014. Sold two of my blogs on these forums last year. I still blog, FOR MONEY :). Got a couple of Amazon sites for the US audience (I outsource most content)and one Adsense site for the SA audience.

Just started a company, I'm busy designing its website and I'll have a blog section on it. Maybe I'll start to blog about something I'm passionate about again.

I blogged ... too honestly, under my real name (I had nothing to hide). Of course, things change, and lo and behold ... as I started googling myself and seeing certain interesting articles popping up, from stuff I'd done all over the interwebz, it got me a bit cautious.

These days the only stuff I feel passionate enough to blog about is stuff that I don't want to be linked to publicly - at least not yet - and so it's a Catch-22. No blogging now.

Yes, I still using my sina blog, But most of the time I just read other people's posts.
