Sounds like a gimmick
I remember a friend of mine coming over with "Sony" 120GB Flash Drives from China. It picked up as 120GB and data got used when we added it but when accessing it there was just a a bunch of files with garbled text.

Never heard a whiff of mp5 news on the net sounds way too dodgy like a 120GB flash drive.

Now I'll take it on my hands to explain what a mp5 player is. A mp5 player is a mp4 player that plays many video formats (not a format named mp5). I can get these for not much more than a mp4 player

whats the point if you can convert the files anyway.

It saves a lot of time and effort if a portable media player can play downloadable content as is, namely H264, DivX and XviD.

The people who encode files usually do it with a good balance of quality
and file size. Its difficult to achive that without fiddling each time too.
