Suppose the following:

I sell my house. I have a DSL line at my house. The buyer doesn't want the line. Who's responsible for the cancellation fee of the line? Is there a cancellation fee if you're not on a 12/24 month Telkom contract (I pay month to month) ?

Suppose the following:

Imagine, as hard as it might be, that Telkom's left hand actually talked to its right hand. If I wanted to move the line from my old house to my new house would I be charged an installation fee?

No Contract, No Fee

As far as I know there will be an install Fee as the tech has to come to your house. Unless you do a self install.

If you wanna move it I THINK you have to pay same fees as a getting a new line installed. Telkom are greedy and stuff...you know!

Best way to find out is to phone them, or better yet if you're in a position of power get an employee to phone them. :D

It's about R500 or so to have your line moved.

I know cos the other day I was charged for it randomly. Eventually got Telkom to take it off my bill after they weren't able to prove which address I had moved to!
