I do not normally read detective books or murder mysteries, so have no idea who the good authors are.

Am looking for a recommendation or two, please. It has to be really good and gripping, though! Want it for holiday reading.

Thanks.

Spoiler alert! Note that in all books the perp. is Col. Mustard in the library with a candlestick, aided by the butler. They’re all the same, so recommendations are a waste of time.

Why dont you go grab Gibbs autobiography..

Maybe you could find out who done who down under in all 'em wild orgies....

why don't you play Mafia instead? :p then it's like partaking in a murder mystery :D

There are many good authors, here are a few:

James Patterson - Alex Cross stories
Jonathan Kellerman - Alex Delaware
Agatha Christie (slightly old tho)
John Le Care (not strictly who dunnits)
Frederick Forsyth (not strictly who dunnis)
Stieg Larsson - very interesting trilogy
Jack Higgins

I will add when I think of more :)

Mary Higgins Clark - one of the better whodunnit authours imo

Thanks very much, will check it out.

Kathy Reichs - Bones books, which the TV series is loosely based on, if you enjoy the forensic angle :)

Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series.

The best detective series imo.
