You do get this net-sock type thing from some butchers, but I haven't seen it myself. The normal cotton stuff is good to go. I have used it multiple times in the past without any issues.

Just make sure to use clean string, not the oily, greasy stuff that's been standing in your garage for the past 5 years.

But why not? I've been meaning to make a Castrol flavoured rump for a while.
