I think I'm a human capacitor - storing large amounts of current until a friendly door knob or metal object sucks it out of me.

It's getting to the point where I wrap cloth around my hand to touch a door or open a window. I know it's just a small shock but it get's really annoying !

Some research later, and the usual stuff - humidity, car seats, the way you walk, dry skin etc. But these are things common to everyone and I don't see this happening to others that I know.

Drove to the pizza shop last night after dark, walked past a window and got a shock without even touching the metal.

Anyone else experience this on a regular basis or have any suggestions as to why I seem to be affected more than others?

Same thing happens with me and my girlfriend. Not every day, but it depends on where we are and what we wear(clothing). We make faces ready for a peck kiss and wham the sparks fly, lol. She always says it hurts somewhat, but generally it's just a nice bolt on my nose or lips. Happens when I open our laundry room door at home as well. All in all, nothing to worry about :)

Happens to me every time I get out of the car. (usually on closing the door, but If I can do that without touching the metal it will be with the next doorknob/stair rail/elevator button/etc.
