Why are solar jars so expensive?

The cheapest I have found were at bidorbuy for R149 each but only if you buy at least 5.
Ordinary garden solar lights only cost about R30
The solar jars seem to be going for R190 each.
Surely they can't be that expensive to manufacture? Another rip-off :mad:
 
Probably because of the (at least on consol ones) 'proudly south african' logo

Supply vs Demand? Maybe they can only produce x amount per month (or want to) and need to make n amount to cover their costs. x/n = solar jar price.
 
i remember the Consol outlet store in Woodmead had them for R99ea (this was over a year ago so ya)
