I usually buy 5L bottled water from Checkers

It is usually buy Thirsti which was around 19.99. Now suddenly this week it increased by 50% to 29.99.

The whole Checkers is suddenly full of these 5L Thirsti bottles next to the fridges. I assume people not going to pay such an increase.

Aquille 5L which was 21.99 last week suddenly jumped to 28.99. Only a 32% increase but still a lot.

Just checked Pick n Pay. Thirsti costs 20.99. Aquille is 26.99. Let's see if they increase their prices in the next week.

Big part of the cost of bottled water is transport, the cost of which has increased dramatically of late.

The increases do seem excessive though.

Will be interesting to see where we go with oil now.

Thirsti is near Newcastle in KZN.
aQuellé is near Pietermaritizburg in KZN. The company is that German sex cult religious group where people work free

Maybe the cult members have gone on strike and the leadership now has to pay sex workers.

Having the same issue.

We only drink bottled water, I don't really trust what comes out of the taps for drinking all the time - although like the odd pill or something is fine. Anyway, we usually buy a few crates of Nestle 500ml 24-pack from Makro every month. They were up to R124 each last time. Now, Makro only has 250ml 24-packs and they're R141 each!

Something seems to be up in the bottled water industry.

That's only R23 a litre plus you get a nice collection of single use plastic bottles...

Yeah, people are willing to buy it.

I feel bad now paying R1 a litre and using my own container.
