Why do games have a million graphical settings now?

I am trying to play Cyberpunk and idk what half of these even mean. What is the **** is "Convolutional Neural Network" and how am I supposed to know if its any different from "Transformer Model"?

Back in my day you just had to choose your Resolution and Anti-Aliasing. Now I spent more time playing with the settings than I do playing the game

I have the same problem with the new CODs now, there way too many settings and when you change something you forget what you did and if it has made any difference

That's why i just pick my resolution. And then use the pre loaded sittings for quality, like low, medium, high etc.

Cause GPUs got more fancy AI to play with, those are for different types of AI, for you to make a 720p image look like a 4k... I mean sort of

Switch to indies, last couple of indie games I played had like 3 display settings.
Playing WH 40K Space Hulk Deathwing now, also has a shaitload of settings. Even more on the remaster.

DLSS and real time raytracing are an absolute meme IMO. They won't fix bad game design.

you dont want to fiddle with settings , go play on a console,
if you in PC land, more settings is what we want.
same to with mods, in PC land, you can change everything, in console land, wysiwyg

That's exactly why presets exists for those who don't like to test every setting's performance and visual impact. I personally enjoy it. It's like a mini game within the game.
