Why do people keep voting and defending the ANC.

Listened to some interesting lectures this weekend with some high level DA people and we got onto the topic of why do people keep voting and defending the ANC. One of the ex-ANC people put it very well.

Imagine you have a mother, who gets drunk a lot and is a b*tch. You go to one of your mates and tell them that your mother is bad and a pain in the ass and your friend in agreeing with you goes, "yeah your mothers a drunk bee with an itch".

For most people they`ll get defensive and start defending their mothers are this point.

Its the same thing for a lot of black voters and the ANC.

Anyways, Jozi, expect a message from the DA on your skyline on Monday Cant say more than that. I like the message hope you all will.

for many of its supporters the ANC has been entrenched into their lives. The ANC has managed to get the rural footprint, where it is almost uncommon to not go and vote for them.

In essence it boils down to a lack of education. And the cANCer don't care about education because the filth running the country knows that the moment their voters understand exactly what their "leaders" are doing (or not doing), they would cast their vote elsewhere.

I had an interesting conversation with a co-worker earlier this week. They were specifically fed up with all the corruption going on in my ANC governed town, in the same breath they also admitted to being a ANC supporter and said that they will always support the ANC.

This colleague then went on to say that hopefully things will get better once the DA takes over.

All I can say is that I was very confused, why keep on supporting someone when you yourself admit that they are corrupt?

I'm starting to think it's not a lack of education, it's the dis-interest in one.
The people getting rich is the ones who are corrupt, steal and find the loopholes and when they high up in the ANC they can do so without consequences.

Hmm yes I think when you live in a shack without running water or electricity and can't read or write you have the means to get an education but just aren't interested in one.....
I'm pretty sure if half of the poor people had the opportunity to get an education they would take it but that option isn't available to everyone, unfortunately.

Right and wrong. Right in that it is very similar to what those people believed in 600 years ago. Wrong in that those people lived in an era where the whole world believed in the same and there was no alternative way of thinking.

Today is different. There are alternative ways of thinking. The problem today is not only ignorance, it's also abject and fatal stupidity.

Intelligence seems to be the only thing which matters! The average African has a 10% smaller brain and 20% less IQ! Democracy barely works in countries where the population has a IQ of 100 or more.

Politics is just one of those topics you should not really discuss unless you have your facts straight. I watched some videos of the EFF this morning, and I am quite rattled by it. They are gaining support, and I couldn't help but notice how much they look like a certain organisation that once terrorised Sierra leone...

The irony is that black people vote ANC because of people like you. Why should I vote for a white controlled party when a good chunk of white people have this attitude? If you have experienced racism, like me, then voting becomes an emotional rather than a rational exercise.
I would also like to add that, believe it or not, for a majority of the people ANC has done more good than harm. It may not make sense to you but it is because you are from a section of the population that is advantaged

I agree with you. It is time for people stop looking at the colour of your skin in this country, but instead look as everyone as people. If a person comes off as being less intelligent than another, and happens to be black, it has nothing to do with their skin colour, I know many (for lack of a better word) stupid white people.

However, I do not believe that the ANC is doing much good at the moment.
